VISIONS OF LILLY PADS | ACRYLIC ON CANVAS | 48X36

This painting was inspired by time spent around water gardens and natural ponds—quiet places where movement and stillness exist together. Lily pads, reeds, and reflections overlap and shift, creating a scene that feels both grounded in nature and gently abstract. Rather than capturing a specific place, I wanted to convey the experience of being immersed in it.
I work intuitively, layering color, line, and texture to balance recognizable forms with looser, expressive marks. The lily pads act as visual anchors while the surrounding space allows the painting to breathe and flow. When I sat with and viewed this work as it developed, it naturally led me into a state of relaxation, reinforcing my intention to create something calming and unhurried.
My hope is that viewers feel a similar sense of ease—that the piece invites the eye to wander, slow down, and enjoy a quiet moment of reflection. The painting is wired and ready to be hung and enjoyed upon arrival.
